I am currrently in the process of conducting a swap of a m52 into an e30. I have come across a couple of posts that state the m50 intake it a better choice over stock and i have read that it frees up horse power and more tuning options. The question that i am now faced with is. What exactly needs to be done concerning the conversion? What i mean is, i have all the parts neccessary to complete the process. However, i have encountered a knock sensor that i am not sure about, located within the intake. I have brought the matter to my mechanic who is against swapping the intakes. Can someone give me some insight into the matter. I want to get this car done as soon as possible.

sounds like you are talking about the intake air sensor or icv. those are the only two on the intake.. knock sensors are directly on the block
