Car out of storage, no start

Ok so I just pulled my M50 swapped car out of storage and have to spark. The CPS reads 493 ohms but the book says it is supposed o have 1280 ohms. I checked a running M50 CPS and it had 500 ohms so I dont think that is the problem. But I have no spark. I swapped coils with new boots from a running car. Coil wires have 12V like the bently says.
    Im stumped.

Do You have functional fuel pumps?
If you have fuel pumps , it is possible that you have a large airlock in the feed line or that the injectors are locked by fuel varnish.
Make sure that you have no wildlife taking up residence in the intake and/or the exhaust.

Fuel pump is working. I'm gonna drain the
gas and put fresh in but it still didn't fire when
I sprayed a little ether in it. Still need thoughts guys

        Probably stuck injectors.

does the engine even crank? mine sat for 2 years and turns out the starter was stuck when I tried to crank the engine.

You're gunna have to actually provide some information before anyone can help.
            Do you have fuel?
            Do you have spark?
            Do you have neither?
            Is the engine turning over?

Keine problem. The engine does turn over. I can smell fuel from the exhaust so it is getting fuel but it won't even sputter when ethered. So I'm guessing that it is not getting spark. On Monday I am going to drain the fuel tank and put fresh fuel in it. According to the bently the coils check out and there is 12v at the plug. I can swap our the injectors just to be safe. It did run when I stored it, poorly but I got it running 3 days before I stored it and it sat for 6 months.

Put fresh gas in it but the problem is no spark. I'm gonna put a different cps in it tomorrow. I swapped out the dme with no success. Any other thoughts

If you smell fuel (in the engine bay, or front interior) and it is not on the floor, then you have fuel.
The smell of fuel suggests that you either have no spark, or that the injectors are dumping too much fuel and are killing the spark.
What do the plugs look like?
How many ground/earth points do you have for the engine? should be at least 2
How many earth points for the coils? should be 2.

Yes I am getting fuel and no spark. I enev flipped a coil upside down o. A monuting stug and put a ground on a plug and nothing. The plug was not fouled out like it was dumping too much fuel.
-there Are 2 coil grounds and the 2 metal pieces to hold the wires
-I added an extra ground since the prevous owner did to the m20. It's a 1 in wide ground strap that we use on our big diesel trucks
-this car did rum before it was stored so it has to be so be something little and stupid.
-today I tested mine and 2 running m50's cps and they all read within 20 ohms of eachother even though it is half of what bently says it's supposed to be.

                      What about the ignition switch?
The DME is rather sensitive to battery voltage. Maybe put a charger on the battery as you turn the key.
The only other things I can think of would be to de-oxidize the c101 and the DME connector pins to ensure good connections.
Maybe add another ground from the DME case to the body?

surprised no one mentioned battery until the last post. Sure it's not battery? Sometimes there's enough juice to turn the dash lights on but not enough to crank it...

It runs. It was the CPA even though the one I put in there from the junk yard has the same amount of ohms. It runs rough just like it did before but that will come with more testing and swaping parts.
Before the motor would crank just not start. I did try putting jumper cable on a ground and the DME but that didn't work. It did run before not grounded just sitting in the glove box. Does it really need to be grounded?

No, but I'm a disciple of "old German cars need all the extra ground assistance they can get." :D

When I did my swap I bought all new sensors in order to avoid this kind of fight. It raised the admission fee of course.

Thanks for the help. Now I'm gonna swap out the injectors next week to see if that could be causing the sputtering. I did my swap in a hurry. Didn't even clean and paint the block, wish I would have now but I only had a week to put it in storage after I blew the m20. now I'm paying for the short cuts
