Gettin some work done to m50

I believe I have a blown head gasket on my m50 car. I'm going to be pulling off the head maybe this weekend (soon as I want it done by the picnic). While the head is off and being checked I was goin to throw in my s50 cams, Dr. Vanos stage 1, 21.5lbs injectors, 3.5" HFM and TRM tuned chip. I'm wondering what else I can do to the head while it's off with those mods. Is port and polish worth it or port matching? Anything else?

if you have enough money to port it why not??? But I think that gains should be small... If you are not going to turbo it someday I would suggest to put that money in some other things...

I don't plan on turbo but who knows. Guy at the machine shop I talked to said it'd take 2, maybe 3 hrs of work at $95 an hour to port match.

        Thanks for the order!

I would not port match the head. Not worth it.

The most critical thing is your cam timing. It has to be perfect.

Porting isn't worth it unless you're racing and have restrictions as to what you can do.

When I did some searching on it, I found mixed reviews on it. A lot said only do it if turbo.

I think that it's not worthy at all... Like matt said cam timing is really critical... Few days ago I pulled out M50B25Tu and gave it M52B28 crank + rods, with Vanos repair kit from Beisan's and some new bearings, gaskets etc. It is a real beast now... I should say about 30-40% stronger engine now(depends on revs)... Vanos was really bad... If you have 2.8 crank + rods somewhere near for good trade I would go that way if you already don't have a 2.8...

Just to follow up, was the 3.5 HFM and associated hardware/software worth it?
