    can u stay using the metal coolant lines?

    can u stay using the metal coolant lines, when converting to obd1? i see people say get the rubber spider hose coolant line, and coolant pipe adapter. but why, cant you just use the the obd2 metel one?

    yes I use the metal hard pipe on my s50.

      I'm using metal on obd1 s52 too. I think I might have had to cap off one of the nipples...I forget. I've also got throttle body heater circuit deleted maybe the return for that was to the hard pipe?

        ^^That's right Sam. I capped off the long pipe that runs up near the throttle body. I capped that and installed my coolant temp sensor in the throttle heater port that was tapped into the head to completely be rid of the throttle heating system.

        For what it's worth, I prefer the metal pipe highly over the spider hose. Those things are a mess to begin with, but when they fail and need replacing.. Well it's a pain in the ass to replace them in-car, to say the least.

          Cap off the return TB to water pipe...the smaller angled fecker of the two that point to the driver side frame rail.
