Removing Head: HG, Studs, and other questions

Hi guys. I commenced to strip down the donor motor I got a while back and noticed that there appears to be some oil seepage between the head and block at the back side of the motor. I never got to see the engine run and know I'd be furious if the HG ended up being faulty once everything was in so it seems like now's the time to take off the head and do a bunch of other crap while I'm in there. I will have the head looked at and checked for cracks, warpage, etc but I have some questions about which components I should use to put it all back together and whether or not certain things should be replaced.

The motor is an m52b28 (single vanos) and it will be OBD1 converted w/ s52 cams. It will be daily driven and autocrossed once a month. Here is what I'd like to know:

    1. Head gasket: Is a stock Victor Reinz unit acceptable? MLS? Something else?

    2. Head bolts: Again, stock OK or get ARP? Any known issues with stockers?

    3. Timing chains: Replace them while I'm in there? I will be changing out the Vanos seals and putting in an anti rattle kit as well.

Anything else special I should know? I really didn't want to pull the head due to the added time and cost, but sometimes you just have to bite the bullet.

Thanks for any help you guys want to give!
