the main support mount for the transmission when using getrag, the driver side hole needs the most work, iirc the passenger side hole you can get away with just slotting it a bit

Alright, let's forget about the e24 mount. To get the e21 mounts to fit, what exactly has to be done to the brace? Spacers welded in?

I need to stop reading for tonight, it's frustrating me to a point where i can't understand it anymore haha

for any mounts you will need to modify the support in the same manner, the only real difference between the rubber mounts is there strength, haven't heard of using E24 mounts, but i know E21 and E30 both are the same basically, E21 are just a little thicker and give more strength. Im sure E24 mounts are the same as well, but im not sure.

it will make a lot more sense when the transmission is in the car, you need to weld a triangle onto the driver side over the hole, and drill a new hole...

I had the transmission in place being held with a floor jack, and then made the required template out of cardboard, and then cut and welded it together on the bench. took maybe 2 hours total to get the mount setup.

or you make a new complete mount from scratch by bending a a piece of flat-stock as needed.

heres how i did mine back when i had the getrag.., i made the adaptor bolt on...
