24v swap with G260 trans. question...

couldnt really find what i searched for...anyway


i have an m50tu and i am using my g260. i have the custom crossmember, and the engine has an m20 fly and clutch on it....


now i read that im going to need a euro 323i throwout bearing....is it absolutely needed for this swap?

stock I bearing works fine other wise my car is a engineering mistake, btw i have the same motor/trans works fine

The euro bearing also comes off a US six I think. I have the euro bearing.

I have the stock bearing and i track the car regularly. no issues.

Use the 323i bearing if you use an s14 clutch. I had better luck that way.

Euro 323 and us 325 have the same part number for the bearing.

This thread is confusing.. When you guys say "stock bearing", do you mean m20 or m50?

M50 + G260 + m20 clutch/flywheel/etc = what throwout bearing to use? I am sure one would rather not use the 323i euro if there is another viable option..

The throwout bearing depends on the Pressure plate and Transmission used, no other factors are involved!

Op i'm gonna hijjack this thread for a minute...but which guibo do you use with m50 - getrag 260 and e30 driveshaft? I'm asuming the later after 6/87 guibo? right

It depends on what year trans your using. If you have a big guibo trans and shaft, well there is your answer.

Okay so another hijack on this thread...I have a M50 with G260 and a M50 flywheel and clutch kit. Would I use the M50 starter and gear?

yes use the starter for the flywheel. example: m20 flywheel:m20 starter m50 flywheel:m50 starter
