    tdc with ltw flywheel

    installing s52 cams
my flywheel doesn't have the locking pin, I can use a dial indicator to get exact tdc, but how is everyone locking the motor up without the flywheel lock?

    Thanks

Put all the pistons halfway down in the cylinders, take the chain off, install cams, lock cams to #1 TDC with lock-tool, crank #1 piston back up to TDC, reinstall timing chain.

Use the mark on the front crank pulley and timing case.

you have to eyeball as best as possible the TDC on the crank pulley. For installation, rotate the crank pulley 45degrees clockwise to work on your cams (this will put all cylinders in their bore and away from the valves.

Have you done the timing before on these engines? Look at the pelicanparts.com diy section, they are awesome!
