What size nuts do the 2 studs on the aternator use?, and what size do the 3 studs on the starter use? or how can i go about finding out. Engine is a m52 but i imagine there the same for all e36's.

its an 8mm and a 10mm for the alternator wires.
for the starter you need to go to realoem.com and look them up. you can also find the alternator nuts there. order through pelicanparts.com /thread ; /

The biggest nuts with 13mm heads are M8x1.5, this goes for your entire car that I can think of.

The medium nuts with 10mm heads are m6x1.0, again there are 1400 of these on your car so get a few extras

The smallest 8mm nuts are M5x1.0 I BELIEVE but I'm really not sure, could be m4x1.0Comment
