    Is this an OBDII throttlebody?

Sooo why the fuck does my throttle body fit onto the intake manifold like this? (It is rotated 90 degrees)

I can only guess that I was sold an OBDII throttlebody by mistake. Can anyone confirm this?

What's wrong exactly? That's how mine looks, at least the best that I can recall. OBD1, that is.

Thats an obd2 tboby. it should have a groove cut in it for the tbody gasket where the obd1 intake has the gasket installed in it, if they both have this groove they will not seal up properly as the gasket isnt long enough to span both intake and tbody

Every picture I have seen of OBDI converted 24v's shows the throttlebody with the butterfly pivot on the horizontal axis so the tps and throttle lever are on the side.

Thanks that answers the other question I had in my head, the gasket is very loose I was worried about that.

I haven't even checked yet but the TPS is different on OBDII as well right?

if i were you i would use the obd 2 throttle body. BMW updated the throttle body to make the switch more accessible so it can replaced easily. Just buy the bimmerworld adapter and another gasket and your fine.

This is true. Though if you intend to run a charcoal canister, the OBDII throttle body lacks the third nipple for the fuel tank ventilation.

            Well, at least mine did...
