Fuel pump took a dump

Luckily I was at home. Car started and ran for a few seconds and died. I don't hear the pump priming, but it didn't always prime, truth is it was really loud. Sounded like a drill. I tried turning the key to before start many times.
Is the fuel pump under the car? I've never had a reason to look for it.
Before I replace it, what can I check in case it isn't the pump? Fuse 11, wtf is the relay and how do I jump it? I suck at wire related stuff.
I've smelled burnt oil inside the car the last few drives, though I checked the engine bay and no leak at all and no smell, wierd, not sure if related.

I used a Walbro replacement. It somewhere within my threads.

The fuel pump is within the back seat area. You will want to prop up the lower half of the back seats close to the corner that protrude towards the front of the car. Pull under the seat at each side upwards and it should "pop" off. There will be a black casing held by 4 screws.

Unbolt those screws and you will see the fuel pump/fuel level sensor. Remove the sensor first, then the fuel pump second by spinning the housing counter clock wise.

When installing the new fuel pump, be sure to use submersible fuel line found at napa auto parts for around 7 - 14 dollars a foot.

If you want to just check if the fuel pump is working or not, just power the fuel pump directly by jumping the fuel pump relay. I forget from the top of my head. A quick search should show how.

So the fuse is ok, I want to test the relay before getting the pump, though I'm pretty sure it's dead.
I've researched that it should be one of the three relays outside of the fuse box, I think I have two brownish ones and a white one.

The fuel pump relay is the one with these 4 wire colours:
1)green/brown
2)green/violet
3)red (large)
4)red/white

...so I would jump red-red and green-green to test it?
Oh and yeah I run low tank fillup a lot, maybe that's why it pooped, but it was a bit louder since I bought it.

I believe Fusion has an early model so the main pump is going to be outside the tank.

Yea, I'm not sure, but I hear the pump more under the car than inside it.
Which makes this whole situation a tiny bit shittier cuz it's going to be a pain in the ass to get the rear up somehow.

If you have an early model fuel pump system the fuel pump is accessible on the drive side right before the wheel well.

Will check. So all I'd have to do is lift that side a bit? I have a ~40/40 drop.
My Merc has the pump under the car at the rear wheel but closer to the center of the car. Not east to get to on lowered cars.

Relay tested, no result so relays fine.
I looked for the pump and all I found was the fuel filter above a plastic flap. Am I looking right? I can"t get my head under there :D

How complicated is the Walbro install and is this the correct one?

While I'm at it, the fuel guage shows 3/4 all the time, low level light works ok. Is there a way to fix this?
