    Quick (driveshaft) question

So I''m gettin ready to drop in my m52/zf combo, and I need to figure out my drive shaft. I know I can use the late e36 328i or m3 with 4-bolt rear, or e30 m3.

Here is my question. I have an early model driveshaft with BIG GUIBO and I have heard it might work on the zf tranny.

Is this true? If not I will just have to wait and get a late e36, or e30 m3.

Im just a noobz, so go easy on me...

I dont know the answer to your question but I can tell you the e30 m3 driveshaft will work along with a 328I or a m3 depending on year.

This I know... I just happen to have an early big guibo shaft and want to get my car on the road...

Plus e30 m3 shafts are not plentiful, and neither are the appropriate late e36's at the moment...

Bottom line. I am hoping someone will tell me from experience that I can save $ and time by using the one I have...

          Thanks guys.

if your car was an ETA early model with the large guibo drive shaft it should work as long as it has the slip yoke area where you can pull the DS apart a tad to add length.

                Yes ^^.

I replied on E30tech before seeing this thread. The big-guibo eta driveshaft is the same length as the M3 shaft. Bolts right up assuming the CSB matches your car. Like the M3 shaft those don't grow on trees either, but if you have one go for it.

Ok, just so you guys are aware, my car is a late model (89) 325i, not an eta. The driveshaft, came out of my 87eta.

So rthor432 when you speak of "lining up" is it possible my late model will not line up with the early shaft where the csb is located or what?

                  Thanks again.

Ok, so I got the go ahead from rthor432!!

I will let you guys know how it goes!!!

/this needs to be added to the sticky as a driveshaft option.
