Your idea of full price is fine by me.
Since you have done a few, what do you think of cutting the selector rod in half, threading each end and using a turnbuckle to make the angle/position adjustable?
Locknut the turnbuckle, of course...Comment

I really wouldnt suggest it. The amount that the selector shaft needs to be bent isn't really all that much. But if that's what YOU want to do, I think I have a spare shaft that I can make that happen for you.Comment

What I have now is a Z3 shifter, unbent, with a selector rod from a metal console. On my M20/260, it is quite a bit forward, as the selector rod is 1/2"ish longer than a normal one...thus my stealing someone else's idea to make an adustable one.
If bending is OK, I will just buy a new selector rod, as mine was an emergency swap and I actually need that selector rod for another car.Comment

the benefit of this is you can actually bolt up your 260 with it. with a 24v swap you will see that when you bolt up the tranny to the engine its not at the same angle to the trans brace as it was before and wont bolt up to it. his design accounts for this change.Comment
