e30 m52 obd1 swap..cuts out at 3500 -4000 rpm ..any ideas ?

    e30 m52 obd1 swap..cuts out at 3500 -4000 rpm ..any ideas ?

    i have a 89 bmw 325i..m52 swap..converted to obd1..the car starts one click..idles fine but when the rpm gets up to 3700 to 4000 rpm it cuts out like its not getting enough gas..anybody ever encountered this issue ? i think its ecu related..or electrical..its not he maf..could be fuel pump ?

    stock dme ? possibly not getting a road speed signal ?

      ^^^ that. No speed signal to the dme will cause it not to rev that high.

        I had the problem in my OBDI S52. After I bought the tune from TRM it went away.

          i dont think im running red labelled dme 413..could that be the issue ? what wire is the road speed signal wire and where is it located ??

            It can be in your C101 if you've got a late model, but you've got to borrow it from your cluster if you have an early model. Early models are the green wire from the speedo.

                  Update..i found that the sensor in the diff that controls the speedometer had a brken wire..fixed that..same problem...i took a 560 dme from an s50 swap i have and plugged it up...problem fixed..the 413 dme was the culprit..not sure if its the dme or if it needs a chip to run as it should
