    Worth the money...

    I can get an M50 2.8L for $1300 OBD1 parts $600 and $500 for the transmission.

    or...

I can get an M50 2.5L for $1800 and that trans. for $500

What do you guys think is the better buy...

    Or $3300 for the S50 w/ tranny

As of now I am leaning towards the 2.8L M50.
    Thanks,
    Tony

The 2.8 is called an M52 fyi.

To much money for all of them. You can find S50 for $1500-2000 and trans for less than $500. :?

Just adding my 2 cents, but I've got budgeted $3000 for the S50 and trans.
          I think that's pretty resonable.

I agree. But also budget another few grand for all of the parts that add up.

You do have to convert the S50 to OBD1 right?

No you dont. YOu might have to get a PreEWS chip if its built in 1995.

And if you find one (S50) for $1500 that has less than 80k and isnt beat to shit lemme know, I might want to build another car if they were going that cheap. Now good M50s are going that cheap but you are looking at a 50hp difference.

And yes, you must budget much more for parts. I wouldnt just go living with old used parts after spending 4k on a motor.
                  Im now E30less.
