anybody in the eastern ct area want to install a transmission?

I think my transmission is junk. It barely goes into gear with pushing pretty much as hard as u can. seem to go through the gears fine when it was out of the car.
i just have no desire to get back under the car and take out the transmission.

Might have to find a local tranny shop. have them determine if its fixable or not.

Slaves in and seems to be in working order. But it's just as hard if the car is off and just trying to go through the gears with it sitting. Whether your pushing in tue clutch or not.

My buddy had the same problem with is car. 260? He replaced his tranny and it has worked fine since.

Definitely sounds like the clutch is not disengaging.

What would make the clutch not disengage? And if that was the case when I start the car in nutreul would it want to go forward if it wasn't disengaged?

If you are in neutral the car won't go anywhere when you turn the key and start it.

If you can't get it into gear from neutral with the engine running and it goes into all gears with the engine off I would make sure your clutch hydraulics are in working order and bled properly.

If it won't go into gear at all engine on or off you might want to check/ replace the shift pins, this is a problem ZF's have. It does require removing the transmission but you won't have to buy a whole new unit.

yeah wont go into gear with the car on or off. At first it was fine, then hard but would still go in, but now yeah it pretty much wont go in.
This all happened with out driving the car though which is the odd thing to me.
