Do the resistors on this ECU look funny?

Yesterday was a REALLY REALLY hot day and I took the car out on its first track day.

This morning got a check engine code.

    1281 DME Memory Unit Supply:

This indicates a fault with the internal memory of the DME computer. This is sometimes caused by low battery voltage. Delete the codes, and disconnect the DME for 15 minutes. Then reconnect, let the car idle for five minutes, and then drive over 30 mph for more than five minutes. Recheck the codes - if it occurs again, the DME is faulty and should be replaced.

So I took out the ecu and some of the resistors look like they've blown up.

What do you guys think? ECU is kaput?

The green/red are caps and they look fine.
The 3rd/4th pic shows diodes and resistors (the smaller one with stripes)

With electronics it doesn't have to look burned or anything to be bad....depends on what went etc.

I'm at a loss currently cause the car won't hold idle :(

I don't really know how to clear the codes especially since its an E30 with an E36 motor. Not sure how diagnostics work with the chassis.

I mean I hope its as easy as picking up new ECU.

Well, it's obd1 yes? The engine harnes should have a plug for scanning/erasing codes. It doesn't know what chassis it's in so to say. What dme is this?

Pardon my ignorance, but what in the world is the GT1?

If it runs but won't hold an idle, you have a vacuum leak.

The control unit memory supply error probably means you have switched power somewhere that you should have constant power in your C101 adapter. Or it's a bad DME.

Definitely doesn't have a vacuum leak. I checked all over earlier today. I would still be able to hold rev's with a vac leak though. This thing just falls on its face.

Anyway I can check if the ecu is indeed the culprit in order to completely rule it out?

Werd. I heard them all clicking on though...figured that meant they were operational haha

I forgot to mention that I changed the fuel filter and it actually started up. In the morning the car wouldn't start period.

Fuel pump maybe? Was yours loud? Change out your relays for good ones.

Pump works, no funny noises either. I even pulled out the rear seat and had someone sit there to make sure it wasn't buzzing. Will definitely give the relay's a shot though. Have any spares? :nice:
