Well replacing my starter today, my buddy dropped the nut that holds it down inside the gearbox (where the flywheel and clutch is.. is there a way to get this out without pulling the engine back out and gearbox of the back?? Quick answers please am going to pull the motor first thing in the morning if theres nothing else.. :(:(:(:(:(

Just pull out the trans-engine support part. It bolts to the bellhousing with some e-torx bolts as well as 4 8mm bolts up into the block. It can be removed easliy, and doesn't require you to refill any fluids. You'll see it right at the back of the oil pan.sigpic

There should be an opening in the bottom, I don't think that little plate fits on the 24v engines. Although I'm not perfectly recalling. Go look underneath the trans, get a magnet, and figure something out. If it got in, it can get out. Just super frustrating.Originally posted by z31maniacI just hate everyone.
