    surging idle

I now have a surging idle .Th car starts fine whe it is cold.....after a few minutes it starts to surge from 500 to 1200 rpm .the car is a m50 transplanted in a e30.
I replace the idle control vale and it seems to still do it.I had the idle set perfect after it warmed up but now this morning it is back surging ...Any thoughts

    Thanks

Yes, a vacuum leak is likely. Also pull codes and see if there are any other issues - like, say, knock sensors.

I you wired power to pin 16 of the diagnostic connector you could hook up a peake scanner to it and pull the codes that way.
