    Engine Bay Tar

I've seen the pics, some remove, some don't, mine is cracked, and is almost certainly coming out (some of it already has...)

What are you guys doing to replace this nasty stuff? I realize its not a must but, I don't want extra heat in the cabin or on the paint.

I think I have an idea, but just wondering who's done what already.

I stripped all of mine out, its very heavy and traps water (rust) I cleaned it throughly and bout a bunch of Thermotec cool it sound and heat barier. Its peel and stick, easy to work, deadens and resists heat better and is lighter. I did the whole firewall and all through the tranny tunnel.

Okay cool, so that's one vote for the shiny shit

Did you do it inside the bay/housing, or inside the cabin on the chassis(under the carpet)?

I also used the thermotec insulation, but mine required a separate spray on adhesive.
