how hot does your m50 run?

ive noticed that mine runs "half" on the gauge at speed. its been going about 3 quarters in stop and go. i've installed 2 10" electric fans with a thermostat just in case. i'm sure it would higher if i didnt have the fans. i live in georgia and the temps have been in the 70's lately. im worried about whats gonna happen mid summer!

any suggestions? i'm running the stock engine thermostat. i was told u could loose power with the lower temp model. the motors from a 92' 525 nonvanos...

    thanks!

you sure you don't have a radiator leak? how high does the temp get when you turn off the car? my M50 used to do this, but that was because i had a cracked radiator.

i think it would heat up when turned off. i have seen this happen. i thought that always happens...

i havent noticed any leaks. i've got a new radiator from a e36. i'll look closely for leaks.

      thanks for the input.

I just got mine in and I love the damn thing, the motor runs right at the first of the three marks.

I live in phoenix and we are already seeing 85 degrees. I'm also running the e36 radiator with no mechanical fan.

Also, if this is too cool for you, search ebay and they had some 75 degree thermostats on there for about the same price.

your car will run rich with that t-stat installed. That's almost 20 degrees colder than stock!
