    Massive brain fart: which side does the flywheel shim go on

    I can't remember this to save my damn life. It's e30 flywheel with getrag 260 going on an m50. Sorry to post a thread but google was useless.

    I think it goes facing the clutch disk. I just did this a month ago, I should remember..durr

      The shim acts as a single washer to distribute the load evenly when the flywheel bolts are torqued.

      RealOEM.com would have shown you the proper orientation, btw.

          No it goes on the clutch side. It acts as a washer to distribute load as stated above.
