    CEL problems

Its electrical, but partially 24v specific so Im posting it in here,

I have a m52 obd1 swap with a TRM chip that I have deleted the AC compressor from, and all of the piping back to the console area. I dont think I touched any wiring. Test driving my car it was all well and good for a while, but now its flickering on a CEL for A/C Compressor (Peake/Bavauto FF tbl5 41). I am using the ac switch to run the aux fan on low speed. How can I make the computer think its there?? It wasnt occuring, but I guess it caught on its not there (?!)...I know some of you must have deleted the AC compressor, get this code?

I also am getting a vehicle speed signal missing code (FF tbl5 2A). When I started testing out the car my speedo was still broke so I didnt think a whole lot of it. Fixed that by swapping VDO boards between the one in my cluster and a scrap speedo. Still got the code, I traced the wiring, everything is wired properly and is conductive. I typically dont get that CEL until i drive up to 4k rpm or so, but it always eventually comes on. Any chance by how tight i ziptied the wires it could be inducting some funny signal mess? My speedometer doesnt skip a beat, what gives? Is my sensor on the diff taking a shit, skipping just a beat here and there?

My water temp gauge has always been a little shy. Motor screamin hot it never moved past half into the blue. I blew my water hose (hose clamp FAIL) and my gauge still read cold. Obviously not, I pulled over pretty much right away but I was 101N roughly at Rowland so I whipped in there to the Chevron and waited forever to fill the car, once i could touch the head under the intake manifold. Could that have trashed that sensor? When I fixed my speedometer I also changed out the temp gauge and its the same deal. All of the the engine harness side of the wires are correct, so I dont know where its getting that unless its really only reading it. I havent looked that far into it.

I need to get my car BAR registered and smogged ASAP, can anyone help?

I have never seen that code before. I will try to figure out what can cause it.

What year/model is your chassis? You may have to run one wire from the cluster to the ECU for the speed signal.

Did you connect x20 pin 14 to c101 pin 14?
That is the vehicle speed signal wire it could be the source of that CEL.

I haven't checked my car with a peake yet but I haven't gotten an a/c code that blinks through the CEL when I do the stomp test and I deleted my a/c and use the aux fan the same way you describe.

Well come to think of it my CEL won't blink codes anymore either but that's another story.

I did connect 14 to 14, I followed a diagram I found posted here somewhere. I checked again, but Ill double double check again on my lunch or after work here. Like I mentioned though, I have checked the ETM and my wiring, and all APPEARS to all be there, unless its some weird intermittent connection or signal.

I just want my AC switch to turn on the fan, I looked at the back and didnt want to really go and trace all of the wires but who knows what wires I need to cut if possible to make the switch only do the fan, and not control anything else like trying to control AC. Besides, when I push that button my blowers start going slow too so Ive got a little bit of heat blowing in my car constantly... =/ Even with the switch off, my CEL flashes like the AC was doing, then comes on constant between it and the speed signal I lose track. I dont know if it comes on just because I try to turn the AC on or if it just somehow knows?? I find that really weird.

I would check the table that you are using for your codes. I'll check mine tomorrow. But when you hook the peake tool up and check codes, it tells you the table the the code. Go by that not the k5 table.

I was doing that by memory. IIRC the OBD1 325i/m3's use the same table under "FF". Reader flashes "FF" (Table set, looked up its table K5 for the ecu) >> (*codes*) >> (--)...

Checked now - FWIW page 6-7 is the FF fault table locator. 93-95 325i's, 525i's and m3s are in FF Table K5. K1 is for the E30 generation.

In other news I passed my smog by ONE Hydrocarbon PPM (108 max/107 measure) at 15mph.
