I have used my OBD1 wheel to run an OBD1 S50. And currently its running my OBD2 S50.

      OBD1 Wheel
      OBD1 Timing Cover
      OBD1 Oil Filter Housing
      OBD2 PS Pump
      Past Car : E30 S50 6 Speed 5 Lug 3.73
Current : Z3 S50 OBD2 (Smog Legal) 6 Speed BBS RN Dual Ear Diff

Also hoveringguy has proven that you can use an M44 CPS sensor (VR and bolts into the block) to use the tiny 60-2 wheel on the crank.

Another option. No need to deal with balancers. And lets you use all the OBD2 wheel / Timing Cover / OFH / Pump or whatever setup you want.

There is NO difference in the OBD1 / OBD2 timing covers btw. I have one each at my house. Exactly the same besides the OBD2 has the nipple pulled out for the metal coolant pipe.
