    M50tu v.s. M52b28 w/ m50 head/mani

Basically as the title says: I have a wrecked 325is with m50tub25 but I also have a chance at a m52b28 that I might be able to get fairly cheap and would already have the OBDI stuff and the m50 intake manifold.

Would it be worth the time to tear both apart and the expense to buy the m52 for the extra power from the extra displacement?

I say yes, if you have the money to buy it, i've heard of m52's with those mods getting close to 200whp, where in the m50 you'd need cams, chip, injectors. Now, don't take my word for it because that's only what i've heard, no personal experience with it.

But if you got the money def get the m52, it may take a little more work to get everything swapped but i think it'd be wroth it. Only reason i went with an m50 is because i had no mooney for an m52 and already had a complete m50 sitting around.

I also want to add m3 cams I can also get locally for a decent price. I just wasn't sure if there would be any gain really from the extra displacement.

The m52 was replaced because it was overheated then the head gasket went, so the head is likely junk, but the block is hopefully ok. Either way, guy only wants $100 for it, so I'm gonna go for it.

Get the m52 block, slap m50 head on it, m3 cams, bigger injectors and MAF = loads of fun
