Tightening Crank Bolt, S50 in car, no flywheel hole

Putting the crank bolt back on to 300ft/lbs. Probably have around 220 on it now but want it closer to 300. My car is in 5th gear but there seems to be still too much play in the tranny.

I have the flyweheel locking tool, but no hole in the flywheel.

Also, the butt of my rented Autozone torque wrench is too large to fit my jack's bar around the end to use as a breaker.

You bolt the hold down tool to the block and into one of the pressure plate bolts? that's how i made my tool, according to pelican.

Just put it in gear, pull the parking brake, and have somebody stand on the brakes as hard as they car. You should be able to torque it then.

You're not supposed to use the flywheel locking tool for that purpose anyway. It's only for holding the crank at TDC. With 300 pounds of torque on it, you risk damaging it.

Ok, I will try it again. 5th would be the best gear right?
