    stock airbox

I am interested in doing a 24v swap in the future and i dont want a cai, so i was wondering if anyone here is running a stock m50 airbox, and if theres enough space/clearance for the stock m50 airbox. thanks

I've seen it done in previous threads, but i believe most people that got it fitted had some modifcation to the ABS unit.

do a search, there was a guy that posted a thread here. he had to do a lot of work to make it fit.

instead, i would suggest getting your hands on an 84 or 85 METAL 325i airbox. that is a direct fit and you only have to modify the bottom of the box to clear the alternator. the stock maf is a slight interference fit into the metal tube that comes off the box. i will post a pic when i get the chance. this is actually everyone's best bet if you want to stick with a stock box.
