Thwe 3.5" MAF didn't really help much on my s52. The gains you are seeing are usually from stock to having bolt-ons and a tune. A proper tune with the 3" maf, and 21# injectors will be nearly identical to a 3.5".
Don't go 24# unless you get aggressive cams, I ran pretty rich with them until I had my s52 dyno tuned.
