    Engine and trans removal

    Hey im about to do the m50 swap and im gonna pull my motor and tranny soon. so would it be easier to pull it all at once with the tranny and engine still connected? im assuming it will and when I put the m50 in can you do it(is there enough clearence) with them connected? Thanks guys!

    Yup, do it with the tranny attached. Much easier that way.

      Theres enough room to put the m50 in like that too? Cause that would make things easier. Thanks

        Yup. I ended up doing it twice. Its tight, but it can be done.

          Thin pieces of plywood (or something similar) are good for 'sliding' the m50+ trans in, without scrubbing the firewall or radiator support.

            So do I need to remove the radiator? to get it in... Thanks for the info guys

              Yeah, you're going to want to pull the radiator.

                You may want to remove the A/C condensor if this is going to be your first time doing this as well.

                  i tried the "all in one" install.. for about 4hours... never worked for me..

                  i just blew my m50 and have to install another one... i wish i could make it work the next time...

                  i had a lift and a engine hoist... no go for me. i wish i knew the secret.

                    you have to get the front part of the engine up about three feet higher than the rear of the transmission. when you get it into the engine bay you drop it and tilt it as you go...
