Update... After running the car a little more, it has been a little quiter. It still runs like crap and is shaking all over the place; i.e. when I am sitting in the car, I can see my passenger seat ocillating from side to side. This is leading me to think that it is bad timing.

Also, my car looks like this

I have the thrust washers shown as well as the spring plate. So I think I have the later style with the longer bolts.

I wish one of you could ride in my car and feel how it shakes and sounds like a monster truck when going up to 3-3.5k rpm.

That's the later set-up. If you have this arrangement, then I'm out. Good luck tho.

For shit's and giggles, what codes are being thrown?

Did you tighten your spark plugs?

Spark plugs are tightened just fine I reckon.

Thanks for the input though Ed.

You need to check each lifter to be sure that it is easily compressing and that it can draw fluid. If it can not you can remove the piston( gently) and clean the inner bore as well as sand the piston with 2000 grit. I did this on some of my sticky ones prior to reassembly. They now pump up and hold pressure perfectly. I had a link to a euro forum in the uk where the guy did a full write up. I am still looking for it. The only other thing that I have heard of happening is that the lifter gets destroyed in over rev situations because it pushed all of the fluid out and them bang the piston into the wall thus killin the lifter.

If one (or more) of my lifter(s) is killed, would my car run like crap? Shaking and rumbling to where you can feel the vibrations in the cabin?

It should but the lifter could be locked all the way up or in the middle so who knows. The valve train just sounds far to noisy to be healthy.

PM DiscoTechnix or something like that on bfc. He had a diesel sounding motor, I can't remember what it was though but I think it was something in the head that was fucked pretty good.

It could be that the timing is way off too and it is dieseling.

I can't watch the video where I am, but can you describe how the engine is running? Have you confirmed that all cylinders are firing? (The best way to tell is by taking temperature readings off the individual exhaust tubes.)
