Bogging, won't pass sniffer. Need HELP!

    Hey,

So my car is being weird. I went to get an emission test and it went 3 times the limit, it's running rich, I know that. Hc limit is 680, my car ran 2800.

Also, the odd time I goto start from a stop, the car bogs and hesitates, then after the RPM's get up it's fine, but still sleightly boggy.

I got a MAF code, I put a new one in and it's still doing it, I changed the Dinan ECU out and put a stock 403 in and it did nothing.

Is it possible for the car to be stuck in cold start? Coolant temp sensor, maybe IAT sensor? My other guess was the FPR.

    Sam

Edit: Stomp test says 1444 (No code) also brand new car, brand new o2.

Failed again after I changed the ECU. Levels were a bit lower, and passed the curb idle, but failed the 40km/h test by twice the limits.

Spark plugs and coils, it sounds like you have a misfire issue.

While we're throwing out random suggestions, may I suggest the cam position sensor. I went through hell diagnosing a misfire on a 328 (OBD-2/MS41.1). It was the cam position sensor.

I'll test the values once I get home. I'll check the E36 ETM. I was actually thinking that was it. It wouldn't throw a code, the car would still run because it has the crank sensor.

Isn't there a mistake in the ETM in regards to resistance test values? It says 1280ohm +- 10%, but I vaguely remember reading somewhere that its wrong, or is that only the crank sensor?

Well, that didn't fix it. When I start the car cold, it' like it's running on 1 cylinder until I give it gas. TPS, coolant temp, IAT?

                Hey,

I changed my coolant sensor, and cam sensor. still doesn't work. I checked that the maf does it cleaning thing after the car is shut off.

Would the IAT sensor cause a rich condition? Also, is it possible to test the FPR without a pressure gauge?

Figured it out. I had NGK plugs in the car, proper temperature, but just single electrode (Possibly resistor). Put in bosch, seems to be running a lot better.
