Well, on the rare occasion when I am not driving like a douchebag Ive had tanks average out to 24-25mpg. That is with a fair amount of highway commute.

I average about 29-30mpg over a full tank in my 84 318. That is about 90% city driving too. I average anywhere from 34-37mpg over a full tank of highway driving.

            I assume that's with an M50?

Mine will do 24-25 on the highway, with 3.73 rearend. Never really checked what it does around town...but it's not too good, and is flatout miserable if you're constantly WFO. 2.5's arn't too bad on mileage, once you get into the 3L--> the mileage suffers.

These fuckers are getting expensive to drive with gas prices in the direction they're heading. Considering going to a 4.10 this summer (free, just have to trade), but mileage makes me want to stay with the longer 3.73.

edit: for comparison, I could get 33 on the highway with the M42/4.10

Getting close to 300 miles per tank filled to the brim and run dry with the S50/3.73. Got about 280 mpt with the M20/3.73. Same driving patterns/routes.

Just a note on this last tank. With regular and somewhat agressive driving and one full night of racing (bout 2 hours solid using almost a 1/4 tank) I still managed 22.71mpg.

I have the antithesis of a heavy foot, and got between 15-18mpg mostly city driving with the M20B25. It was a total disappointment, so I'll update once I get the m50 in and go through a tank.
