Someone school me on light weight flywheels.

I have been looking around for something smaller then the huge duel mass wheel, and everything I have found is $600 or more. I don't need anything super light just something a little smaller. Are there any other alternatives that are cheaper?

Its going in an M52 with a ZF.

There are lightweight flywheels on ebay that many FI people on bimmerforums have had great luck with for under $300

    edit: offer $200: http://cgi.ebay.com/F1-RACING-PROLIT...item5ad99b32ea

I've heard mixed reviews on the F1s. I ran a Fidanza on my swap car and loved it, but they used to be $278!!!!

Agreed, I got one last year NIB used for $280 and installed in my S52 powered 328is. Love it.

I have a JB racing one that is lighter behind an S50 which while nice is not worth the extra I paid for it.

lightened M20 flywheel with heavy duty M20 clutch is what Im running in my M50. Gotta run a M20 starter also to match the flywheel. With a lightened M20 flywheel there is no need to shave the oil pan

Well it looks like I might be picking one of these up! This will work with a sachs OEM clutch and e36 starter correct? Thanks a lot!

Sounds like a good deal, I'll be looking into one of the Fidanzas as well.

Will this also work on a M50?

Speaking of light weight flywheels, seems to me no one ever mentions the pressure plate, which weighs almost as much as the flywheel.

Yeah, I was reading somewhere, on e30tech I believe. There was someone speaking of a LTW clutch/presssure plate assembly weighing in right around 6 lbs. total. Sounds crazy, it'd be fun to have something like that installed, plus a LTW flywheel.
