    Difference in Ignition coils?

Is there a diffierence between these coil packs? Does it matter or not if they are mixed and matched? I know they look a little different, but why is it a 2 dollar differnce?

      Thanks junkie, just to clarify...

OBD1 VC have the oil fill hole near the firewall - and the OBD 1 coil packs are the second picture right?

If I have an OBD1 VC, can I interchang the coils?

Bosch is more because it's Bosch. The bremi's are kinda like a no name brand that BMW uses. The work fine. If you look at the part numbers you will notice that BMW has discontinued the Bremi's as well. Bav has the old Bremi's at 44 and change a piece, vs BMA's 52 and change. BMA carries the Bosch ones for 57 each.

I've found some inconsistencies between coils. I can't seem to figure them out though. The resistance of the coil boots also vary. OBD2 are 1.8k while OBD1s are 1k. IIRC anywho. I had 1.8ks on my obd1 coils and it caused happy backfires.

              Status: HG repair. 488wtq though!

How can you tell the difference whether it is 1.8k or 1k? Does it say on the boot?

bremi ones seem to have them printed on the side. stock ones have them embossed iirc.
