Ticking - Misfiring? Timing off? Help

I am not sure whats going on with my motor. Still the same problem... It shuts off even as low as half throttle under load only. And it seems to be ticking like mad. Could my timing be off?

That sounds like the vanos, to me.
when you backpedal a pushbike kind of sound.
Imo, It is too light, and too fast a ticking to be valvetrain related. When the throttle is pulled the response of the engine is sluggish, like it has retarded timing. Another symptom of poor vanos function.

It could be the timing then because I rebuilt the vanos using Beisan Sys kit. Could timing be related to lack of power and shutting off as low as half throttle even while under load?

Sounds like you have some serious valvetrain issues. That constant ticking noise is most likely the lifters. The engine when revved also sounds very off. Did you time everything properly? any codes stored?

The only code I have is "o2 sensor," Thats all. I think the timing may be off since it was my first time timing this engine. I cranked the engine over like 8 times to make sure the blocks sat flush on the cams before putting the valve cover on and saw the youtube timing vid like 20 times. Could still be off though due to amateurity.
