    Question for S50 experts

I have found a S50 for sale that the ad reads like this:

S50 engine with 115k on block head was rebuilt 10k ago i will seperate. The head has a port and polish, all new valves, springs, and retainers all OEM, custom ground cams(mild). The block was showing low comp. in cyl. 2 and when i took the head off it looked like the end of a spark plug or something, but it scratched up #2 but it can be bored out. Also got whatever else anyone might need for an S50

If the head is truely undamaged, would I just need to get the block bored out a little and get some custom pistons, I have read that people bore the 3.0s out to 3.2s, what all is involved in this and how much can I plan on spending?? Thanks- Graham

you dont bore them to 3.2, a new crankshaft is involved as well. If you were to bore the cylinder out, you'd need a bigger piston... not just 1... 6.

So, in theory, all I would need to do is have a good engine shop bore it out and fit a bit larger pistons and I am good to go? (and I do realize i need all 6 done)

dude... call a machine shop and ask them what they charge to hone an inline 6 engine block. Problem solved.

Look on etk and replace parts that look like they're wear items (seals, bearings, pm stu for everything else, or look in your bentley) then once you have all your part numbers call patrick at BMA (1.888.626.3911) and order all the shit, along with some 1mm overbore pistons (probably around $600). I would imagine you're looking at around $1000 for the rebuild including pistons/ honing, dont hold me to that as i'm not basing this off of personal experience.
