Have any of you guys ever done a 24v swap and left in the auto transmission? Is it possible? For reasons I dont want to get into, my car is stuck at a shop and my engine i was getting built is finished. I haven't collected all of the parts necessary to convert the car to a manual and I'm wanting to drop in the engine while its at my buddies shop. Is this possible? I really just want to have it driveable so it can get to my house and I'll finish the project when I get home. Besides the obvious a manual is better etc etc, is it possible?

There was a thread on here within the last 6 months that had some info on doing a 24v auto setup. I don't remember what auto was used but it was an involved process. Your going to want to get everything you need for a manual setup and do it now, it will save you a lot of headaches later on. If you need it at your house have it towed, or trailered then finish it there.

Theoretically it would be best to use the E30 auto trans as no electronics are involved. As long as the flexdisc and torque converter will bolt up to the back of a 24v (no idea if they will or not) then you should be just fine using the auto trans as if a M20 was still in there...
