Forgot to shave e34 oilpan...HELP!

So after 4 weeks of working on this swap almost entirely by myself I discover that the motor wont start because I overlooked the part abt shaving the tabs on the back of the e34 oil pan. My setup is:

e36 m50tu
e36 g250
e34 oilpan
m20 single mass FW

Is it best to pull the tranny or pull the oil pan and what is the best way to carry that out?

Alex, I would pull the tranny and have the flywheel lightened. That's what I did.

That's....rough. I'm tired. Do I have to pull the Intake mani? Anyone have any life-saving techniques for pulling the tranny. I can see the top tranny-to-engine bolts being a real bitch.

Get two long extensions (36") and a nice impact U-joint in 3/8". Don't use an impact gun on it, but the impact Ujoints are a lot nicer.

You should probably pull the IM in order to get at the starter bolts. If you've done a 24V swap you should be able to pull the IM in 20 minutes or so, that's the least of your worries. ;) Just have a magnet wand at the ready in case you drop any of the IM flange nuts.

How exactly did you get the flywheel bolted on with the metal still on the pan? The flywheel wont sit flush on the crank with the pan on there.

wow that sucks big time. yes. lighten it. shave the flywheel instead of the oilpan. I agree with the extensions and u-joint plan. thats what i did last time i removed tranny. no need to remove the intake, but its a real bitch to get in there. definitely easier if you remove the intake.

yea it sucks...bad. I've read this in the past doing research but forgot all about it.

Question...I've pulled of the IM already and I want to make sure my starter wiring is correct. I did have 12v at the post on the starter but there was no audible click when I turned the key. Is there supposed to be another wire on here? (early starter)

ya. should be another wire that tells the solenoid to load with key turned. do your power windows work with key on?

I haven't seen anything mentioned about this in the previous research I have done.

It touches the bolts on the back of the oil pan. Most people shave it anyway or use a lightweight flywheel like me so it normally isn't an issue.
