    Getrag 240 from 1984 318i

    Would the getrag 240 from a 1984 318i work with a m50 swap or would I have to get a different tranny

          are they different from a m42 getrag 240? they work with the 24v swap..

            yes they are diff and no they don't work. The m42 getrag 240 is too weak for a strong m50 anyway.

              Bell-Housings are different from the m10-m42 g240's. From what I have picked up m10 g240 works with m30 swaps, m42 g240 works with m5x swaps.
