    M52 Aluminum block

Anyone know how much lighter the Z3 Aluminum M52 block is over the cast iron M52? I found one for sale, but I don't know if its worth the extra cash for the weight reduction.... :?

An aluminum M52 should weight roughly the same as an M20.

          1997 Z3 2.8

debating whether or not to pick it up. It's a block complete with the 2.8L bottom end with only 22k mi on the parts..... :?

ffffffuuuuckkkkkkkkkkkk thats like 2x more than what i would pay for it. I think 1200 is a fair price only if it CAM with a head.

for that price 50lbs can easily be fixed with springs...fuck that

$600 for a bare block, or one with pistons, crank, rods, etc?

$600 for a short block is a very good deal.

Sounds like I'm getting ripped off :(

Nah, I just received a PM from someone who has seen the short block in person. Sounds like the engine overheated. I knew $600 was too good. Well, time to drop that $1200, where'd you get your short block?
