    m50 clutch options

Hey guys, quick question about clutch and flywheel options for the m50 swap.
Im runing the 240 out off the old m42 and i know most go with the m20 shaved flywheel, clutch, and euro 323 tob. I want to know if anyone running an m50 clutch kit in the 240. i was thinking this kit from uuc:

This is a track car and i love the way the uuc kit grabs on my brothers e36.

Just curious if this fits in the 240.

    thanks

What flywheel are you using with the sach?

i know the m50 doesnt have much power but i need something that can sustain hard launches.

            Thanks

I ran this setup in a 240 before I switched back to a 260 with no problems...

looks like ill be picking up a 250. did some research and found out the m5 clutch is 240mm whereas the 240 is made for 228mm.

the 240 also doesnt seam to be the strongest tranny either so i might as well start with something a little stronger.

                        Thanks guys.

I run a 240, shaved m20 flywheel, 323 TOB, sachs sport PP, and a local clutch guys dual friction disc (Clutch Specialty) on my m52.

I agree, the trans might not be as strong, but I really like the ratios of the 240. I think people kill 2nd because of the longer distance between them when compared to the 260. It puts more of a shock when you dump the clutch from 1st to 2nd. With an m50, you won't have power issues with the 240, as long as you use a sprung hub clutch. (aka not a solid center racing disc) Stuck was running a solid hub m5 clutch on an s52 and drove it like an asshole. Thats why he blew up 2 of them. But, even he said he liked the ratios of the 240.

I like it because you can go faster in 1st, and with a 3.73, reach 60 before redline in 2nd. It bolts up to the bellhousing AND the trans brace correctly. 250's are just worthless anyway.

Almost forgot: This setup was less than half of the cost of the UUC setup. I paid $60 for a used flywheel, and then $240 for the PP, clutch disc, and flywheel shaving and resurfacing. The TOB was around $80 shipped from Pelican, iirc.

Dude I beat the shit out of my 240(see photo above)and it took it. What killed it was running something over on the road and cracking the case, which caused it to leak oil. I still have it though, and would use it again if i can fix the crack:)
