    HELP with trans replacement

    Hey everyone,
Iv been replacing my zf in my e30 because the old one popped out of second.
I have been having problems with the slave cylinders blowing up inside of the transmission once I push on the pedal since I put the new transmission on. I can push the throwout bearing arm in with my finger in the hole, is it supposed to rebound back? Because mine does not.

The first one blew up after one hand pump, the second one i tried to do the two person bleed techinique and then when it was running noticed it start to get a little clutch pressure then it popped and blew apart again. I should mention I was getting air at the beginning then fluid while i was doing the two person bleed technique.

I was wondering if this was because I chose to use the used slaves or if it was because I have air in the system?

your hyper extending the slave and its popping right out the end. something is wrong with your clutch setup. throwout backwards? wrong one?

edit: it could also be the lever arm has shifted and your not actually pushing anything?

I did not touch the clutch being I was just dropping the trans and replacing it.

i think this is a g260 in pic, but basically the same

arm goes on, held on one end by that retaining clip, other end is what the slave pushes on... throw out goes on shaft and seats into the arm

I understand that, I put the throwout bearing from the old trans. on because it still looked like new. Im nearly positive I put in on the correct way. That was the only the I removed and put on the trans.
Im thinking Im going the have to pull it again but have no clue what it could be. I wonder if i didnt seat the throwout bearing in the fork enough. Seems to me though that it would not allow the fork to go as far into the trans as I can push it.
