    Looking for advice before diving into the swap

    I picked up a 325e recently for a rally project and havent decided what im going to do with it yet. Options are turbo eta or M50 swap. Ive been doing some research and its come down to the last few questions.


    1. Can anyone tell me the raw weight of an M20 [eta] vs M50tu?

    2. Do you use regular 325is E36 Cooling Components like a radiator and such?

    3. A regular 325is E36 oil pan wont fit?

    4.



    Here is my list so far...
    What I have...
    • M50tu [All the following parts are from the same 325is]
    • GetRag
    • Cluster/ECU
    • E36 Dashboard
    • Transmission Crossmember
    • Driveshaft
    What I need...
    1. E34 oil pan
    2. Engine Mounts/Tranny Mounts
    3. M50 Wiring Harness
    4. M20/M50 Wiring Harness Adapter.
    5. Brake Booster
    6. E34 Throttle Cable
    7. Misc
      1. Engine:
        Clutch, flywheel, T/O bearing
      2. Cooling System:
        hoses, radiator, etc
    8. Petty Expense - $300
    Extras...
    • LSD (probably a 3.46 or 3.68)
    • Exhaust

    Couple more questions coming just want to make sure what I have gets up...

    All your questions have already been answered in the stickies or other threads.

    89+ radiator or e36. Depends what you want. I choose e36 mishimoto radiator.

    e36 oil pan wont fit, it will hit the front sub-frame. Use e34.

    Any reason your using an e36 dash?

    I knew nothing coming into my swap. Read read read. You are on the right track but all the questions you will have can be found by searching
