Do i need to run a oil cooler?

I am wondering if i need to run an oil cooler on my m50 and also what radiator is the best choice? The e36 m42 because i want the expansion tank built in.

The stock m20 was designed for the use of an oil cooler but the m5x and s5x engine didn't require one. So no, you don't need to run an oil cooler unless you want to. Keep in mind that you will have to buy a kit or find a way to adapt an oil cooler to your 25v engine. For simplicity, I would just avoid that route.

Not mandatory, but I would recommend one for track use according to my oil temp readings.
I'll be installing one come spring utilising Dude8383's placement behind the passenger light (search for pics).
I don't like the idea of an oil cooler somewhere down in front of the engine.

Btw: any recommendations for oil cooler adapters other than the IE adapter? Best bang for the buck maybe...

Even the M20 didn't really need it, I knew plenty of folks who were running without one, just swapped to the eta oil filter housing, and no issues.
