    please help! m50nv G250 M20 flywheel swap...

I've searched and cant find an answer that can help. I'm in the process of installing m50nv into my 1990 e30. Im using Getrag 250 with m20 single mass flywheel, clutch and pressure plate. I was wondering which throw out bearing to use? I measured distance on both setups (original G250 dual mass flywheel and m20 single mass, both with pressure plate attached) and g250 combo is 3/8" thicker from flywheel mounting end to pressure plate fingers end. Thats what made me worry. Please help me if you can, thank you very much.

i dont have experience with the g250 setup cuz in my m50nv setup, i stuck with the g260 tranny even though the g250 came with the motor. so sorry, i cant answer your question however, the g250 is known as pretty weak. it will be fine with the m50 honestly but it's known to grind synchros to 1st/2nd on track.

any reason you're using the g250? i would highly recommend the g260...what rearend are you gonna use?

Did you ever resolve this? I used an m20 slave (cheaper) and had to extend the rod to reach the clutch fork.

I swapped in a NV M50 in my old 89 and used the G250. Like the others i would strongly recommend against it. Those tranny's are straight weak. It would sometimes pop out of first when you let off the clutch. Then you lose the race.

In my Z3 it had an M44 and G240 and I was lucky enough to only need to add in the remote fuel pressure reg, swap sway bar to 6cyl one to clear e36 pan, beef up front susp to 6 cyl. M52 bollted up with stock clutch. All other parts are what the car came with including radiator.

            cliff's-
            G240- Not too shabby
            G250- pretty damn shabby
G260- Has a twist but strong
            ZF- ideal for over 200hp
