Question about AKG 24v swap engine mounts

Are the studs on them long enough to allow shimming ? I need new mounts and want to raise my engine to get some clearance at the same time.

They'll be matched with AKG trans mounts and cups (also shimmed if possible).

Solid or rubber? I use the solid ones and there is plenty of thread there.

Yes, I shimmed mine on the pass side. Not sure about solid or rubber, I have the poly ones.

The poly mount allows a very, very little bit of shimming. Not much at all.

Ok so yes or no ? I'm confused right now...

            How's the max you can shim, 1/8'', 1/4'', 1/2'' ?

I would say on mine I couldn't shim at all. I really think that mine are defective because of how little of a stud they actually have. If they are not defective I wouldn't be comfortable shimming mine at all.

You may be able to shim 1/8 ".
                The studs are rather short.
I think that if you could source old school locking nuts (the all metal oblong id ones , not the crap nylock nuts), you could do 1/4" sans washer.

Thanks. What are the other good mounts on the market ? I need something who allow more shimming and I don't want to use the E28 M5 green mounts again.

Why do you want to raise your motor?

To gain some clearance under the oil pan. I'm planning to buy coilovers and go a little bit lower so I'll need as much clearance as possible.

I would invest in an oil pan shield first.
Even with height adjustable coilovers, I can't see you getting the front any lower than it is in your sig and driving it (or are you planning on the show circuit?).

Get one of Robert's skid plates.

I already have a skidplate but I'm wanting as much clearance as I can between the pan and the skidplate.

I think I'll go AKG mounts and shim them as much as possible.
