    If you're going to put that much effort into swapping an engine, do an m60, not an m70... the m70 is a full 50 pounds heavier than an m50 which is 50 pounds heavier than an m50... All for the same hp that you can get from an s50.

    Doing something M50 related? -> http://www.addissimo.com

      300 HP is nothing compared to what you can easily do with an S50/2 with something like forced induction.

      Plus you are posting this everywhere.

      If you want to really spend money go for an M60 like Adissimo said.
      You must have money if you want the V12, so why ask?

        very true guys, i'm going to pass and enjoy the summer.

        what does money has to do with it, for gawds sake it's a junked car from local Pick A part.
        i like advise and as you know it varies very widely from board to board.
        perhaps next time i'll ask for you permission, Yikes, internet !

        thnaks for the advise,
        Frank

        p.s. i hoped for dual cams and 24 valvels in those heads but that's not the case :(

          The M70 is essentially two M20s mated together at the crank. :idea:

              of course you could throw an s50 and turbocharge it like evreryohne else and make well over 300 horespower but to have an 750 v12 in a car like that would get high praise.

                High praise? :roll:

                Look, the only reason to do this swap (and I'm sure it's been said before) is to do something different or to grab attention. Do you think it's worth it to place such a large engine in your car to completely throw of the near perfect weight distribution our cars are famous for, or to make such simple tasks like changing spark plugs a difficult task? No. For the same amount of money (in the end), you could have more power, better handling, better weight distribution, and less hassle with changing parts.

                Do you think people are swapping M/S5x's in because it's the cool thing to do, or because everyone else is? It's not about being like everyone else. It's about doing a swap that makes sense, both financially and with respect to gains you'll see.

                Do a V12 if you want to. It'd be cool to see one in person. Would I own or build one? Never. It'd never leave the garage.
