    s52 swap o2 sensor issues

s52 obd1 swap with trm chip the problem is at idle and low rpm engine has a dead spot as well as an engine light. the dead spot and light will come out of it as you get on the gas.The code is 1222 ,the lambada system but I put a brand new o2 sensor when i did the swap less then a month ago.I have no problem getting another sensor but afraid that it will happen again. The car does seem to be rich at idle but that could because of the sensor? I did have some minor issues with vacuum leaks not sure if that had an effect on the sensor.any input would be great, thanks

1222 doesn't necessarily have anything to do with the O2 sensor itself, it means that the DME detected either an excessively rich or lean condition for longer than 15 seconds. My first guess would be that you still have vacuum leaks.

dont think i have anymore leaks I sprayed carb cleaner anywhere their could be leaks.I spent a lot of time making sure all is good. Idle is dead on very smooth just when you blip the gas you can feel the dead spot but smoothes out after a couple revs. it continues to drive great but does it again after it sits at idle for awhile.

First thing I would check is your intake boot, is it new? Also around your throttle body, and any other vacuum hoses.

brand new honestly it idles at 1k without a stumble and drives great after a couple blips of the gas.I sprayed around the injectors ,intake, tbody, boot and vacuum lines(all new).i really dont think it can be a leak with such great idle.Just seems rich at idle and when i rev it a couple times it clears out the fuel and runs fine.I am running 24lb injectors and a euro maf but im chipped for that.Im also not running a cat,not sure if that would matter?

think i may have figured it out.checked again for vacuum leaks and did not find any.so I disconected the evap solenoid and plugged the tbody and since then i cant get the engine light to come on.Im not 100% sure yet but i will see if it does it in the morning. So i think the solenoid is bad.I did bypass the charcoal canister but dont think that would do it.thanks

Yeah it should be idling at 750 +/- 50 rpms not 1k. Definitely a vac leak IMO.

acording to matt at trm who made the chip 1k is where my set up should be.most likely looks like a bad purge valve constantly venting the gas tank.other then that im 99% sure their are no other vac leaks.car has all new seals gaskets hoses etc.I have now gone through at least 4 times looking for vac leaks and cant find any.It idles way to smooth.thanks

do you have a lightweight flywheel?

thanks .yes 10lb I new my idle was fine because I talked to matt about the flywheel.
for anyone who cares the purge valve was the problem car runs great .the valve must have been wide open pulling vacuum on the gas tank.I figured it out when I put gas in their was a lot of pressure when I took the cap off.my idle is still the same at 1k and no pressure in the tank.thanks for everyones input.
