car starts...oil smells like paint thinner

I borrowed a working M50 ECU, now the car will start. But the motor has a slight knock noise, and the oil on the dipstick smells like paint thinner. I just put mobil 1 in 2 days ago...WTF?

Sounds like you have fuel in the oil. Not good.

the knock noise was just flywheel chatter. How would fuel get into the oil?!

running way to rich and running down the cylinder walls.

        maybe a leaky injector.

check injectors and do a compression test?

yesterday i pulled a fuel line off after it was cranking with no turnover, and the line was infact full and it made a bit of a mess of fuel around the intake mani and valve cover. Is there anyway some of that found its way into the motor?

Should i also drain all the oil and put some fresh stuff in?

I bet if you change the oil and it will be fine. I think you were just posting about the faulty dme not providing spark but had fuel pressure? you probably filled the cylinders up with fuel and it got into the earl.

Flush and check your injectors. Spark plugs may be fouled also...

ok so after 3 oil changes and about 150miles it still has a faint gas smell.

                              2 questions:

                              1) i deleted the charcoal canaster and im running that vacuum line with the pressure reg directly to the TB, could that be it?

                              2) im using OBDII exhaust manifolds, and they have the holes between ports 2/3 and 4/5, these holes were not plugged/hooked up to anything, could this be doing something?
