    s52 knocking front engine help

so I've begun hearing a knocking noise towards the front of my engine right under the valor cover near the banks unit. a lower knocking niose that does not seem to effect performance. it has oil, and the sound arrives around 2700rpm and dissipates around 3500rpm. any thought? also, what is the big 32mm bolt in the front of the engine above the ac compressor? it seemed to be leaking oil then I tightened it up, next day heard knocking dot know oftheyre linked.

The knocking tick might very well be the VANOS unit. Beisensystems.com has a VANOS fix. It's $60 for the entire process + $5.00 for the modified 18mm Socket.

Is it a tick or a rattle when you're on throttle? Have you pulled the VC off yet and inspected everything a bit?
    Need a part? PM me.

Above the AC is the timing chain tensioner, next to the oil filter housing is tha VANOS solenoid
